At the heart of our current work is the fundraising appeal. We need to raise funds to buy a suitable building, renovate and refurbish it to a good standard and decorate and equip it as a small scale cinema and community venue.

Our fundraising plans include looking for financial support from local and regional funding bodies, and support in kind from businesses. But most important of all we aim to raise as much as we can from donations, fundraising events, filmshows and other related activities.

Local support in the form of donations has already raised approximately £17K and our first fundraising gig raised over two thousand pounds in just one night. Of course we have a very long way to go. We need to raise at least £75K if we are to buy the building in Chapel Street and would then need funds to renovate, decorate and equip it. Once renovated we intend using our building itself to generate funds by letting it out as a venue but we have to do a lot of work even to get that far… We know this is going to be a real challenge but we are very encouraged by the tremendous support shown already by local people!
