Welcome to the new website for Wivenhoe Reel Appeal, the community based project to develop cinema film and related arts in Wivenhoe.

By now you will probably know that after taking professional advice we have withdrawn our offer to buy the St Johns Ambulance hall on Chapel Street as a potential cinema.  The building would have required too much expensive work to soundproof it and renovate it properly. We are continuing to seek a suitable permanent base as a local cinema but in the short term we are also planning to start screenings in existing local venues… So WATCH THIS SPACE for more information.

We would also be very interested to hear from anyone who would like to get involved with these exciting plans (whether either as a volunteer in our Working Group or as a Trustee). To keep fully up to date with our plans please make sure you are registered on our free mailing list.
